My company's been taken over by a behemoth of the industry. Nobody's happy, and although my job is secure, the culture of the 2 companies is so different that I need to explore other options. Everyone who can is doing the same. This sucks.

Fortunately for me, I am at that stage in my career where I am interviewing other companies rather than the other way around, but it's still an unpleasant experience.

I hate the idea that someday the country will be just a bunch of huge organizations, with the small, personalized firms either driven out of business or swallowed. There are definite drawbacks to homogenization.
